Cozy Mystery fans, this one’s for you!

Even though I’ve branched out on my reading in the past couple of years, I find myself returning again and again to cozy mysteries. They’re fun, intriguing, and I love the cast of characters you generally meet throughout a series!

I took a peek around today to see what cozy titles are coming in the next few weeks, and there are some good ones! Read on to see what should be on your list…

Dead End Detective by Amanda Flower

This is the first in a new series by one of my favorite cozy authors! If you’ve enjoyed Ms. Flower’s Magical Bookshop series  (which I previously highlighted here!), or her Amish Candy Shop series, this would be a great one to add to your list!

Dead End Detective is also the newest addition to Hallmark Publishing’s cozy mystery line. Here’s a preview:

They were the Two Girls Detective Agency. Now, one of them is dead, and the other is suspected of murder.

Darby Piper is in shock. Samantha Porter—her mentor and business partner at Two Girls Detective Agency—has died in a car crash, and it doesn’t look like an accident. In fact, evidence is pointing toward Darby.

Darby had expected to inherit Samantha’s half of the agency, but Samantha had recently changed the will to leave it to Tate Porter, her nephew, who returns to town.

Tate is no P.I. He’s a veteran, a world traveler, and something of a mystery himself. But as he helps Darby delve into secret histories and real estate development plans, he does seem to have a knack for the job. Will the agency have a future…even if Darby can prove her innocence in time?

Dead End Detective is out August 25th! (New installments in the Magic Garden series and the Amish Matchmaker series are out this fall, too… Amanda, when do you sleep?!?)

Christmas Cupcake Murder by Joanne Fluke

Hannah Swensen is back with a new adventure in this holiday themed mystery!

I featured these books a while back in this post.  As with all the holiday installments in this series, this title appears to take a little detour from the main storyline, although I’m sure most of our favorite characters will make appearances. Here’s the description:

As December turns Lake Eden into the North Pole, the heat is on in Hannah Swensen’s kitchen to honor two Christmas promises: baking irresistible holiday cupcakes and preventing a person who attempted murder from succeeding the second time around!

While Hannah speeds through a lengthy holiday checklist, drama in town grows like Santa’s waistline on Christmas Eve. Her sister Andrea wants to stave off the blues by helping out at The Cookie Jar, Michele’s love life is becoming complicated, Lisa needs Hannah’s advice, and Delores has a Christmas secret she’s not willing to share. But nothing dampens the holiday mood more than the chilling mystery surrounding the man found near death in an abandoned storefront two doors down from Hannah’s bakery . . .

The befuddled John Doe can’t recall a thing about himself—except for his unusual knowledge of restoring antique furniture. With a smattering of clues and barely enough time to frost Christmas cookies, Hannah must solve a deadly puzzle that could leave her dashing through the snow for her life!

Christmas Cupcake Murder is out September 29th!

Fortune and Glory by Janet Evanovich

Wait, what? A Stephanie Plum mystery that isn’t titled with a number? What could this possibly mean?!?

Okay, to be fair, the subtitle is “Tantalizing Twenty-Seven.” But with this departure from the norm, could this be a shift in the series? Is it a clue of some sort? (Am I overthinking this? That’s the only question I really know the answer to here.)

At any rate, this 27th book in the series continues the storyline where it left off, and sounds like it could be the biggest adventure yet. Take a look:

When Stephanie’s beloved Grandma Mazur’s new husband died on their wedding night, the only thing he left her was a beat-up old easy chair…and the keys to a life-changing fortune.

But as Stephanie and Grandma Mazur search for Jimmy Rosolli’s treasure, they discover that they’re not the only ones on the hunt. Two dangerous enemies from the past stand in their way—along with a new adversary who’s even more formidable: Gabriela Rose, a dark-eyed beauty from Little Havana with a taste for designer clothes. She’s also a soldier of fortune, a gourmet cook, an expert in firearms and mixed martial arts—and someone who’s about to give Stephanie a real run for her money.

Stephanie may be in over her head, but she’s got two things that Gabriela doesn’t: an unbreakable bond with her family and a stubborn streak that will never let her quit.

She’ll need both to survive because this search for “fortune and glory” will turn into a desperate race against time with more on the line than ever before. Because even as she searches for the treasure and fights to protect her Grandma Mazur, her own deepest feelings will be tested—as Stephanie could finally be forced to choose between Joe Morelli and Ranger.

I’ll believe that last line when I see it, but a girl can dream right?

Fortune and Glory is out on November 3rd!

I’ll stop there, but loads of other great cozy titles are releasing this fall. If you’re looking for more ideas, one of the best lists I’ve found of new releases can be found here:
