The Versatile Blogger Award!

I’ve mentioned before how great the blogging and writing community is on Twitter.  It’s so supportive and people love to lift one another up and give shoutouts to others!

Well, this week, I received a great shoutout!  Joy over at The Joyous Living nominated me for The Versatile Blogger Award! I love book tags like these… it’s so fun to find out more about each other!

Here are the rules for this award:

  • Thank the person who nominated you, and include a link to their blog.
  • Share 7 things about yourself.
  • Nominate more bloggers that you follow for this award! (The original rules say 15 but I’ll do a shorter list!)

Thanks to Joy for the nomination… here’s a link to her Versatile Blogger post:

So… here are some fun facts about me:

~   I am *totally* a dog person.  I’ve always lived with a dog, and our current pup is a standard poodle.  I actually call him the not-so-standard poodle, because the boy is quirky!  He’s also pretty sure he’s second in command after dad, but he loves his mama a lot so that makes up for the 89% of the time he doesn’t really listen to me.

~   Becoming a book blogger seemed like a really natural choice when I wanted to start a website, because I’ve *always* been a reader!  Does everyone remember living for the Scholastic Book fairs during elementary school?!? They still do them, if you’re out of the loop and wondering! (International friends, maybe that’s just a US thing?)

~   I never leave home without lip gloss, and whenever possible, I prefer it sparkly!!

~   Pizza is my favorite food.  Like, I’m not sure I’ve ever turned down pizza in my life, and I don’t foresee a time when that will happen.

~   Gilmore Girls is everything, and Lorelai is my spirit animal.  I didn’t watch the show while it was actually airing, but discovered it later on Netflix.  Now I’ve watched the entire series three times and counting!

Since you asked, yes, I am Lorelai.

~   Word games and trivia games are my thing.  I love Words with Friends, Scrabble, Boggle, etc.  And no one in my house will play Trivial Pursuit with me anymore.  Apparently I “always win” and I’m “super competitive.”  Or something.

~   My favorite role in life, hands down, is being a mom.  I have a teenager now and he’s amazing.  But I do want to freeze time, because I’m told that eventually he’ll finish growing up and want to… LEAVE ME.  Sigh.  It’s fine.  I guess I’ll just get more dogs or something.  And maybe move in across the street from my kid and his family.  I mean, it worked on that TV show, right??  (I’m kidding, of course… probably…)

And finally… here are a few more bloggers I’d like to nominate to be next for the Versatile Blogger Award:

Rae @ Thrifty Bibliophile

Cat @ The Bibliovert

Jessie @ One Lost Coin

Christine @ The Uncorked Librarian

Kristen @ Books.Faith.Love

Thanks to everyone for joining in… hope you enjoyed!  Don’t forget to take a peek at Joy’s blog and the blogs I nominated above.  Hope your weekend has been fabulous… happy reading, friends!

  1. Hi. I saw your post thru wordpress and decided to visit your site and read your verstalile blogger post. It’s good to learn more about you. I agree that the bloggers on Twitter are very supportive. And though I love to play wordgames I can’t say I’m all that great, I just play for the fun of it. My sis is the competitive one and does not like losing. haha Take care.
