“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” – Lao Tzu
New beginnings are tough. They can be scary or exhilarating, or both, but rarely comfortable. But you can’t get anywhere if you don’t begin.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a dream to write a book. Not just to write, but to *be* a writer. I’ve dabbled. I’ve planned. I’ve made excuses and put the dream on the back burner. I’ve made small attempts to begin the journey, but it hasn’t taken off, because I’ve lacked the follow through. I’ve put off making decisions. I’ve lacked the courage to say, “I am a writer.”
Well, no more.
Time itself may be infinite, but any one person’s time is limited. I don’t want to look back years from now and *wish* I had taken the dream further.
So today, I want to say this to you: I’m Cris, and I’m a writer.
I’m working on my first novel. In the meantime, I’d like to share my thoughts and experiences with you here. I’ll talk about writing, publish short things I’ve done, do some book lists and reviews, and probably talk about lots of other things.
Friends make the journey so much richer, so please join me by reading, commenting, and sharing your own thoughts. I look forward to getting to know other writers, readers, and book lovers.
Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
